Shabana Azmi is not just another name in the Bollywood fraternity. She is a force that reshaped Indian cinema with powerful performances that bridged the gap between commercial and parallel films.

A few actresses carry the essence of the 70s better than Shabana Azmi, as her style is like a costume capsule that speaks of the character, even after decades.Proving her love for handloom dupattas and handcrafted garments, her recent outfit also carried the same spirit and was deeply rooted in heritage crafts with a conscious twist. She wore a deep purple, floor-length kurta with a subtle sheen attached to it. Featuring sheer cuffs on the sleeves, it came with striped golden zari detailing that provided an extra layer of luxury texture.

Keeping the bottoms understated, she simply teamed them with a pair of straight-cut trousers drenched in the same shade, which felt relaxed and stylish. But if you thought she was done, then you’re mistaken, as her sleek dupatta variations gave a stunning depth to her overall fit, and you’re definitely not ready for it.

She carried not one but two variations, wherein in the first one, she managed to show off the brocade patchwork from Weavers Studio in Kolkata, woven with metallic motifs, geometric stripes, and floral detailing.

The brocade patchwork, dipped in shades of gold, maroon, and blue, embodied the essence of an ethnic dream. In another variation, the diva wore it with a wine-coloured jacket with wide cuffs and geometric borders, introducing us to a contemporary counterpoint to the richness of sleek silk.

On the accessory front, she added a distinct layer of jewellery and wore a filigree finger cuff that extended along the hand, looking sculptural and bold.

Decorating her ears with a golden ear chain ending in jhumkas, this iconic detailing beautifully framed her face. Keeping a warm and understated look, she wore a single silver cuff on the wrist, which added a cool yet contrasting note.Taking the natural route with her makeup base, she carried the elegance of her age with utmost confidence and wore a pair of defined eyelashes with muted, rosy lips. Styling her hair into a neat bun, she powerfully flaunted her silver strands and showed us who’s the ultimate style conqueror in the fashion world.
