The Oklahoma City Thunder have made the dreams of their fans come true, as they lifted the NBA championship trophy after seven hard-fought battles against the Indiana Pacers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was already named MVP of the season, but the 26-year-old star player thinks he is not the only one who deserves all the praise.
He said his teammate Jalen Williams was equally important to the team winning the championship, and fans cannot help but admire their friendship.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is all praise for teammate Jalen Williams
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played all through Game 7 to become the highest scoring player of the night. The point guard scored 29 points, 12 assists, and 5 rebounds in the game to lead his team to victory in the deciding match. SGA had already been named MVP of the season, and it was a happy occasion for the 26-year-old as he shared in the happiness with his teammates.
But amidst all this, he did not forget to mention a particular teammate, who, according to SGA, was equally important to the OKC Thunder's winning the trophy.
Jalen Williams has been a key player for the Thunder this season, and 2025 MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander knows it.

He has been exceptional in his performance all through the season, and it obviously felt nice knowing that his team and his teammates have his back and appreciate everything that he does for them.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers made it hard for basketball fans all over to take a guess on who would finally take the trophy home. It was anyone's game until the very end as to who would win Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Both teams were neck-to-neck until Game 6 with a 3-3 score, and after 7 years, the NBA Finals saw another Game 7 for the first time as the Thunders and the Pacers brought their A Game to the court.
But after an unfortunate injury to Tyrese Haliburton during the first quarter of Game 7, the Pacers took a hit they were unable to overcome.
