Shillong: Directorate of arts and culture of Meghalaya organised a workshop on Friday under the National Mission on Libraries Scheme at the U Soso Tham Auditorium of state central library.
The theme of the workshop was “Habit of Reading as a Tool for Social Development and Economic Uplift”, reports Manosh Das.According to a statement, the workshop aimed to enhance reading skills and enrich students, book lovers, scholars, and the general public by promoting good reading habits. It sought to highlight not only the joy of reading but also the significance of libraries as hubs of knowledge, social development, and intellectual growth.In his address, state minister for arts and culture Sanbor Shullai emphasised that reading “adds immense value as it broadens thinking and nurtures the learning process”.
