SIT questions accused in liquor scam for second day

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) police on Saturday questioned the accused in the alleged liquor scam, including former Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) Secretary K. Djanunjaya Reddy, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) P. Krishna Mohan Reddy, Bharati Cements director Balaji Govindappa and then IT Adviser to Government Kessireddy Raja Shekara Reddy.

The investigating officers took the accused into custody from the Vijayawada jail and and questioned them for the second day. They questioned about the new liquor policy introduced during the YSRCP’s tenure, floating of new distillery companies, liquor syndicate, kickbacks and other issues.

Anjaneyulu shifted to hospital

Meanwhile, suspended IPS officer P. Sitarama Anjaneyulu, who is in judicial custody in the alleged recruitment scam in Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), was shifted to hospital after he fell sick in the jail on Saturday.

The police also admitted former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamshi, who is in judicial custody, to a hospital after he complained of a respiratory problem on Friday night. His condition is stable, the officials said.
