Six new works sanctioned at Bondla Zoological Park including walk-in aviary

Panaji: The Bondla Zoological Park is set for a major upgrade with six new works sanctioned, including the establishment of a walk-in aviary. The foundation stone was laid by the forest department over the weekend.The aviary will be designed as per the specifications of the Central Zoo Authority. The project aims to enhance visitor experience and where, according to zoo officials, “the visitors will be able to experience diverse avian fauna”.TOIs.“As per the approved zoo master plan of the Bondla Zoological Park, the six new works are sanctioned by govt and will be taken up by the PWD. These include major fencing works of the zoological park and establishing a gutter system to drain the accumulated water,” a zoo official said. Officials set a deadline for the completion of all the works. “Altogether, civil works of Rs 2.5 crore are sanctioned by govt and expected to be completed this financial year ,” the official said.The wildlife and eco-tourism (North) division of the Goa forest department is the nodal office for the implementation of the zoo masterplan of Bondla Zoological Park.
