A three-day ‘Solar Renewable Energy Expo’ that began at ‘A’ Convention Centre in Vijayawada on Friday (December 20) is witnessing good public response.
The event is being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Solar Energy Association and displays cutting-edge innovations and sustainable solutions. It features stalls of PV modules, power inverters, energy storage (BESS), solar pumps, EV chargers, power cables, switchgear and batteries.
Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan and chairperson and managing director of New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Kamalakar Babu attended the inaugural session on Friday.
The organisers said the positive response aligns with significant government initiatives like ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’, which provides subsidies for residential solar panels, increasing public awareness and demand for solar energy solutions.
Odisha Governor Kambhampati Hari Babu is scheduled to visit the expo on Sunday, according to the organisers.
