Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV), through its National Service Scheme (NSS Unit 17), conducted a special camp aimed at ensuring the overall transformation of Sanambatla village in Chandragiri mandal.
The week-long camp that concluded on Sunday (December 14, 2025) focussed on ‘Swachh Andhra – Swarna Andhra’, ensuring garbage clearance and created awareness on the hazards of open defecation, plastic use and keeping the water bodies clean.
The camp in collaboration with the Postal Department also conducted a special drive on Aadhaar enrolment, updation and KYC verification etc. “Besides, the numerous schemes like postal life insurance and other savings schemes were explained to the villagers to promote thrift,” said NSS programme officer S. Santhi Sree.
Similarly, a medical camp was conducted under the aegis of Government Maternity Hospital, Tirupati, led by its Medical Officer Dr. T. Srinivasulu, where medicines for seasonal flu and allied ailments were distributed to the villagers.
As part of skill development, the women were trained in block printing, painting on pots and saris. “This will surely help us make money during our free time,” said resident A. Swetha.
