AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami launched a fresh political campaign under the slogan “Save People, Retrieve Tamil Nadu”, in a direct counter to the ruling DMK government’s ongoing outreach, “Ungaludan Stalin”.
The new AIADMK initiative, titled “Oruttugalum, Thiruttugalum” (Lies and Deceit), seeks to highlight what the party claims are unfulfilled promises made by the DMK during the 2021 Assembly election campaign. The AIADMK leadership said the campaign aims to expose the gap between the DMK’s electoral assurances and its performance in office.
As part of the campaign’s public engagement strategy, the AIADMK has introduced spin-the-wheel games and scratch cards, which party organisers say are designed to draw attention to specific issues and government failures.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin responded sharply to the campaign, asserting that Edappadi K Palaniswami no longer has control over his own party. Udhayanidhi said, “He is saying that as elections are nearing DMK is knocking on every voter's door. I have said this already, we are not sneakily knocking on Amit Shah or Kamalalayam doors. We are facing each member and candidate with the welfare work we have done. Can you do that?”
Taking direct aim at the Opposition, he added, “AIADMK is not under the control of EPS. We will definitely have to defeat these slaves and fascists. Not one vote should be missed as this is a very important election. This is an election to protect the land, language and respect of Tamil Nadu.”
