'Spirit': Prabhas to shed weight for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's cop drama; to enter dark supernatural zone for the first time

Rebel star Prabhas will be seen playing a cop in his big outing 'Spirit', directed by 'Animal' fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Latest reports suggest that Prabhas' look in the film will be "radically different" from anything audiences have seen from him before.

Entering a dark supernatural zone

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the actor is preparing for a massive transformation. The 'Baahubali' actor will be losing a lot of weight for a younger look with a new hairstyle and wearing a different style of clothes from his usual kind. A source close to the organization added, "This role will take him far beyond his comfort zone. It will also be the first film to take Prabhas in a dark supernatural zone."

Shooting of the film 'Spirit'

As per a report by Hindustan Times, the co-producer of the film, Pranay Vanga, Sandeep's brother, confirmed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga asked Prabhas for dates to start shooting their much-anticipated film 'Spirit.'

The film is set to begin production in September 2025, but Prabhas will join the shoot later in November 2025. Sandeep Reddy Vanga intends to kick off filming with some of the cast members earlier while scheduling Prabhas for a later date due to his prior commitments.

The film's shooting will primarily take place in Thailand.

Background score completed

As per Rangasthalam, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has completed the background score for the film and aims to make 'Spirit' a musical blockbuster. The female lead was initially Deepika Padukone, who was later replaced by Triptii Dimri, who worked with Sandeep Reddy Vanga in 'Animal'.Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for his impactful previous films like 'Arjun Reddy', 'Kabir Singh' and 'Animal', and is expected to bring his signature style to this project with Prabhas in the lead.
