Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y. S. Sharmila on Sunday (June 1, 2025) launched a blistering attack on the ruling coalition party and its predecessor, the YSR Congress Party, for engaging in a debate on the SSC exam papers evaluation fiasco instead of focussing on students whose future was at stake.
“During the YSR Congress Party rule, every year around 20 % of students initially failed, but passed with higher marks in the recounting process. Now under the coalition government, as many as 11,000 students scored first-class marks in the re-checking process. This reflects the lackadaisical approach of the government,” she posted on X. It is evident that there is complete lack of transparency and that the education system has derailed, she alleged.
Calling it a complete failure of the government, she demanded that the Minister of Human Resource Development Nara Lokesh take responsibility for it. She also demanded that the answer scripts of every student be re-verified free of cost.
