Stampede unfortunate, says Satish Jarkiholi

“The stampede in front of Chinnaswami Stadium in Bengaluru that led to deaths is unfortunate. Steps will be taken to prevent such deaths in future,” Minister Satish Jarkiholi said in Belagvai on Wednesday.

“A huge crowd turned up to see their cricketing heroes. Such a heavy footfall was unexpected. In such instances, it is difficult for the police to control the crowd. It is very sad and unfortunate. Efforts will be made to see that such incidents do not occur again,” the Minister said.

He was responding to a query during a meet-the-press event organised by Belagavi Media Association at the Information Department here.
