State Delimitation Commission completes hearings for delimitation of district panchayat wards

The State Delimitation Commission has completed the hearings held in connection with the delimitation of district panchayat wards in the State.

The Commission had received 147 complaints from the 14 districts.

With this, the 2025 edition of the delimitation of local body wards has entered the final phase in Kerala, the Commission said on Thursday.

Once the the final notification on the district panchayat wards is issued, the local body ward delimitation exercise will be over in the State, the Commission said.

The State government had earlier decided to increase the number of wards in the 14 district panchayats from 331 to 346.

State Delimitation Commission chairman A. Shajahan, who is also the State Election Commissioner, and Delimitation Commission members and Chief Electoral Officer rathan U. Kelkar and Commission secretary S. Josnamol attended the hearing.
