State govt. urged to name Kalaburagi Airport after saint-reformer Sharanabasaveshwara

Congress leader and district unit president representing the Reddy community S.B. Kamareddy demanded that the State government name the Kalaburagi Airport after 18th century saint and social reformer Sri Sharanabasaveshwara.

Dr. Kamareddy has in a release stated that the saint is renowned for his contribution to social reforms and spiritual enlightenment, particularly through the principles of Dasoha and Kayaka.

He said that the annual car festival of the historic Sharanabasaveshwara temple commemorating the death anniversary of the saint, draws large crowds from across the country. He urged the State government to consider the demand to rename Kalaburagi Airport after Sri Sharanabasaveshwara.
