Steven Gerrard may have retired from Liverpool as a player, but his loyalty to the club remains absolute.

The Reds legend has made it clear he would step into any role at Anfield if asked, while firmly backing current manager Arne Slot to turn things around.

Gerrard, now 44, has added managerial experience since hanging up his boots. He led Rangers to a historic title, endured a difficult spell at Aston Villa, and most recently spent 18 months in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq before leaving in January. Since then, he has focused on punditry duties while remaining out of work.

Asked about the possibility of managing Liverpool, Gerrard was characteristically honest.

“I’ll be brutally, brutally honest with you. I’d help Liverpool in any department at any minute of every day. I’d help them with anything," the Scouse legend stated to Liverpool Echo.

However, he was quick to shut down any suggestion of eyeing Slot’s job.

“I don’t want Arne Slot to lose his job. I want him to fix this, turn it around and make Liverpool great," Gerrard stressed. “I’m a Liverpool fan. I want the best for the club."

He added that if Liverpool ever needed him, in any capacity, he would be there without hesitation.

“If Liverpool need me in any department at any time, I’ll be there for them."

Liverpool’s form has shown signs of recovery. Their 2-1 win away at Tottenham marked a third victory in five games, lifting the Reds to fifth in the table — level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea and 10 behind leaders Arsenal.
