Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak called for patience over the 115 charges the Mancunian club faces over alleged breaches of the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules.

City have been charged with multiple accusations spanning nearly a decade, and ranging from their failure to provide accurate financial information pertaining to the remunerations of players to their reluctance in cooperating with the inspections, in an investigation that was initiated back in the year 2018.

Al Mubarak, however, urged patience over the same and added that he’d be able to discuss it once the verdict is out.

“Well, I suppose the only thing I can say is we still don’t have a ruling," Al Mubarak said.

“Once there’s a ruling, I’ll be able to speak about it," the 49-year-old said.

“Until then we just have to be patient, and it’ll come, and we will talk about it, I promise you, once we have the ruling," the Emirati added.

Al Mubarak reiterated the management’s trust in head coach Pep Guardiola and added that the sentiment goes both ways.

City, who finished the 2023/24 season trophyless in a season earmarked by turbulence in Guardiola’s personal life and a prolonged bout of injury to Ballon d’Or-winning midfielder Rodri, will look for a credible showing at the upcoming edition of the revamped FIFA Club World Cup, slated to begin on the 15th of June in the United States Of America.

“This is a very, very serious competition. In the summer, the whole world will be watching this," Al Mubarak stated.

“A big number of the top teams in the world will be competing in this tournament and I can assure you, we’re going to give it our best shot," he clarified.
