DHARMAPURI: A pack of stray dogs killed three goats in Polaiyampalli village in Dharmapuri district in the early hours of Wednesday. Two other goats were critically injured in the attack by the dogs around 2am.The goats that were killed by the dogs belonged to T Ramasamy while the injured belong to D Kamatchi. Both are farmers. Ramasamy said the three goats were together worth Rs 45,000.Villagers raised concerns over the growing stray dog menace. “Children and elderly people are at risk when these dogs roam in packs,” said Ramasamy. “We are living in fear. If authorities don’t act now, such attacks will happen again,” Kamatchi said.Villagers urged the officials to conduct an immediate inspection and take permanent measures to control the rising stray dog population. They demanded compensation for the affected farmers.
