Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s S.V. Vidyalaya celebrated National Mathematics Day commemorating the birth anniversary of famous Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan in Tirupati on Monday.
The programme was organised with the objective of promoting mathematical awareness and highlighting Ramanujan’s extraordinary contributions to number theory, infinite series, and mathematical analysis. The event commenced with a floral tribute to the portrait of Ramanujan by chief guest and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati, Honorary Director and Treasurer, Satyanarayana Raju.
In his address, he elaborated on Ramanujan’s inspiring life journey. He highlighted on Ramanujan’s exceptional passion and dedication towards mathematics, discovering innovative equations and solving complex problems with simple methods. He also mentioned Ramanujan’s deep faith and belief in the goddess of Namakkal temple in Tamil Nadu.
He urged the students to cultivate hardwork, perseverance, and commitment in learning Mathematics. He also emphasised that a strong foundation in mathematics was essential and supportive for all streams of education, including technology, engineering, accounting, and sciences.
As part of the celebrations, various thematic competitions were held for the students. The event stood as a tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan and reinforced the importance of mathematics in both academic learning and everyday life.
