Supreme Court hearing on stray dogs removal live: Hearing begins into matter

The Supreme Court on Wednesday shifted the suo motu case regarding stray dogs in Delhi-NCR to a newly constituted three-judge bench, which will hear the matter today. The case, earlier being heard by a different bench, will now be taken up by a special bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and NV Anjaria. UBT Sena MLA  Aaditya Thackeray, on the Delhi-NCR stray dogs matter in the Supreme Court, said it was unfortunate to target dogs, adding that the issue falls under civic administration and questioning whether it was significant enough for the court to take suo motu cognisance.

The case, earlier heard by a different bench, will now be taken up by a special bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and NV Anjaria, with the court noting that the judges who passed the previous order are not part of the new bench.
