Supreme Court recruitment 2026: Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the application, applicants must fulfill certain criteria. Firstly, the candidates should have completed their law graduation by obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
degree, including those who have done an integrated law course, from a university/institute recognised by the Bar Council of India.Besides, students running in the 5th year of a 5-year integrated law program or the 3rd year of a 3-year law course after graduation can also apply if they produce evidence of having obtained the law qualification before enrolling. Moreover, applicants must be between 20 and 32 years old as of February 7, 2026.
Supreme Court recruitment 2026: Selection process
The recruitment for the Law Clerk cum Research Associate post will be through a 3-stage process.Part I will have a set of multiple-choice questions testing candidates' knowledge of law, their ability to understand, and their application of the law.Part II will be a subjective written test focusing on candidates' analytical skills and legal writing abilities.Candidates successfully clearing the written examination will be called for Part III, i.e.,
the interview. The interview would assess overall aptitude, clarity of thought, and suitability for the role.
