'Suriya 47': Suriya-Jithu Madhavan film kicks off with pooja ceremony; Check post

Tamil star Suriya has officially begun work on his next project, tentatively named 'Suriya 47'. The pooja ceremony was held recently, formally starting the shoot. The actor shared a video of the auspicious launch with director Jithu Madhavan.

The ceremony also included Suriya's wife Jyotika and brother Karthi, who joined him in blessing the project. Key members of the production team, including Rajsekar Pandian, SR Prakash, and SR Prabhu, were also part of the gathering. The film will be backed by Suriya under his newly formed banner.

About the film

Speaking about the film, it is expected to be a cop-based action-comedy. The film features Nazriya Nazim Fahadh as the female lead, marking her return to Tamil cinema.

Actors Naslen, John Vijay, and Anandaraj are likely to play important roles. Music composer Sushin Shyam, who has frequently collaborated with the director, will score the music for Suriya 47. This also marks his debut in Tamil cinema.

Additionally, he will be next seen in 'Karuppu', a fantasy action entertainer directed by RJ Balaji. The film follows the story of a lawyer possessed by the deity Karuppu to deliver justice.

Featuring Trisha Krishnan in the lead, the movie also includes a wide supporting cast. Suriya also has another film tentatively called, 'Suriya 46' in the pipeline, directed by Venky Atluri of Lucky Baskhar fame. The project will see him share the screen with Raveena Tandon and Mamitha Baiju.Suriya was last seen in the romance action drama 'Retro' directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The movie stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead. The story shows Suriya being raised by a criminal father.
