Special gram sabha meetings will also be held to promote the ‘Swachhata’ pledge among villagers, a press release said.

The campaign will lay emphasis on cleanliness drives at tourist spots and temples under gram panchayat jurisdiction. Efforts will also be made to raise awareness among the members of self-help group regarding the conversion of rural waste into useful resources.

Health check-up camps for sanitation workers will be organised in coordination with the Health Department in all gram panchayats, along with information sessions on various welfare schemes, the release stated.
