Cleanliness drives and awareness programmes marked the Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra initiative across Anantapur, Kurnool, and Nandyal districts on Saturday, focusing on ‘Monsoon Hygiene’.

At Kadavakallu village in Putlur mandal of Anantapur district, Collector Vinod Kumar V took part in a rally and emphasised the importance of hygiene during the rainy season. He laid the foundation for soak pits in village households, each costing ₹6,000, planted saplings at the waste-to-wealth centre, and checked whether workers had been provided safety gloves and jackets. He also reviewed vermicompost sales and directed officials to clear bushes around the centre. Later, he visited the Zilla Parishad school, inspected the toilets, and demonstrated proper handwashing techniques to students.

In Nandyal, Collector Rajakumari Gania joined Shramadanam by cleaning the Collectorate premises along with Joint Collector C. Vishnu Charan and other officials. She urged citizens to reduce plastic use by switching to jute or cotton bags and stressed that active public participation is essential for the success of Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra.

In Kurnool, Collector P. Ranjith Basha participated in a rally at Nagalapuram village in Gudur mandal to highlight the importance of community involvement in maintaining hygienic surroundings.
