Move over traditional diyas—this Diwali, it’s all about candles that look good enough to eat! From laddoo-shaped candles to ones resembling rasmalai, imarti, and gulab jamun, these dessert-inspired creations are adding a playful, whimsical twist to festive décor.
The trend has quickly caught fire among shoppers looking for something fun, fragrant, and Instagram-worthy to brighten up their homes. Artisan Tuhim Mukherjee, who has been handcrafting these delectable-looking candles, says the response has been overwhelming.“We have lost count of the numbers we have sold. It has a lot of takers because of the fact that it is new,” says Tuhim.
Equal parts quirky and nostalgic, these sweet-scented candles blend tradition with novelty—offering a modern way to celebrate the season of light, love, and indulgence. Whether used as centerpieces, gifts, or part of a festive setup, they’re redefining what Diwali décor can look (and smell) like.
