Douglas Malo gives update on Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith’s condition after Raja Jackson attack
Douglas Malo, who jumped in to protect Smith when things turned violent, gave an update on his friend’s health. “Stu remembers mostly what happened during the early parts of the day. He’s talking a little bit. He’s alert. He’s still got some injuries that are very serious. Not, like, life-threatening serious, but, facial injuries, stuff like that,” Malo said.
The incident happened on Saturday in Los Angeles, when Raja Jackson, son of former MMA star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, suddenly attacked Smith in the ring. Malo quickly got involved, pulling Jackson away before things could get worse.Malo admitted he also got hurt while stopping the attack. “I’m pissed at what he did to my friend. I’m pissed for him punching me in the face. I’m pissed for him that when I went to take him off and told him to calm down, he tried to double leg me,” Malo explained. He added, “If he would have double legged me, he would have done the same thing to me that he did to Stu, you know?”Thanks to Malo’s actions, Smith was taken to the hospital quickly, and order was restored in the arena.
