T.N. Assembly condoles deaths of soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda

The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Friday (January 23, 2026) adopted a resolution condoling the deaths of Indian Army soldiers in a road accident in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday (January 22).

An Army vehicle had skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge, killing 10 soldiers and injuring 11 others.

The House expressed its condolences to the bereaved families, the Indian Army, and the people of the country, and observed a moment of silence as a mark of honour for the deceased soldiers. It also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident.

Speaker M. Appavu also read out an obituary reference on the passing of former legislator K. Bhavani Karunakaran. The House observed a moment of silence.
