Two people were injured after unidentified people allegedly threw an iron pipe at the Taj Express between Palwal and Hodal stations, damaging a window of the train, officials said.

According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the incident occurred around 8 am on Friday, when an iron pipe, about 2–2.5 feet long, was hurled at the moving train, which runs between New Delhi and Jhansi. The impact shattered the window of coach D-6, injuring two passengers seated nearby.

One of the injured passengers has been identified as Rajesh Aggarwal, a resident of Faridabad. He sustained facial injuries after being struck by broken glass. Both injured passengers were given immediate medical assistance at Mathura Junction.

Based on a complaint filed by Aggarwal, a case has been registered at the GRP police station in Mathura. Police said an investigation has been launched and efforts are underway to identify and trace those responsible.

The incident raises concerns over passenger safety and underscores the need for greater vigilance and accountability on the part of the railway administration.
