Tamil Nadu CM Stalin reiterates ‘zero tolerance’ policy over offences against children, women

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday (June 13, 2025) reiterated that his government’s policy over offences against children and women was zero tolerance, supported swift investigation, highest punishment, no remission.

In a social media post, Mr. Stalin said there has been increasing awareness and it was evident with the increase in complaints over POSCO offences received in police stations without any fear.

“Only when there are complaints without any fear, offenders could be awarded punishment in their very first offence. It is necessary that those individuals do not repeat such offences,” Mr. Stalin contended.

Referring to an interview of the Director-General of Police to a private TV channel, Mr. Stalin contended that the interview has served as an answer to malicious propaganda that offences against children and women have been on the rise in Tamil Nadu.

“As per data from the National Crime Records Bureau, Tamil Nadu was among the States that reported less number of cases over offences against children and women,” Mr. Stalin said.
