All arrangements are in place for the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) grand “Mahanadu" event, set to begin on Tuesday at a sprawling 125-acre venue near the Ring Road on the Kurnool–Kadapa–Chittoor National Highway.
The three-day political conclave, being held in Kadapa for the first time, has transformed the city into a sea of yellow with banners and flex boards. TDP national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu arrived on Monday night via a special flight, while party national general secretary and minister Nara Lokesh reached by road from Kuppam.
For the past four days, a team of ministers and senior leaders have been stationed in Kadapa, closely monitoring and finalising all preparations. The Mahanadu will serve as a strategic platform to review the government’s accomplishments over the past year and plan countermeasures against what the party describes as a misinformation campaign by the YSRCP.
A key highlight will be the announcement of a special action plan for Rayalaseema’s development, along with a detailed discussion on the Rayalaseema Declaration introduced by Lokesh during his Yuvagalam padayatra. The event will kick off at 8:30 am with delegate registrations, followed by ceremonial activities including flag hoisting, a blood donation camp, floral tributes to party founder N.T. Rama Rao, and homage to deceased party workers.
With over 23,000 delegates expected, senior leaders will offer direction on the party’s organisational structure, guiding principles, and future course of action. On Day 2, the agenda will centre on resolutions concerning development and welfare programmes, with 14 resolutions specific to Andhra Pradesh, five for strengthening the party in Telangana, and four joint resolutions to be discussed and approved. The Mahanadu will conclude on Thursday with a massive public rally anticipated to draw around five lakh attendees, marking a powerful show of strength for the party in the region.
