Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of Telangana High Court on Monday (December 22, 2025) declined to pass specific orders in a batch of writ petitions challenging the delimitation and merger of new divisions into the existing ones.

The Advocate General (AG), A. Sudarshan Reddy, presenting his arguments, contended that the petitions cannot be maintained in the backdrop of the Article 243-ZG which prohibited interference by courts in electoral matters. Senior counsel, L. Ravi Chander, appearing for the petitioners, argued that the AG’s contention cannot be sustained as the apex court permitted judicial review even in cases of delimitation.

The judge noted that the balance of convenience lies in favour of the government in the matter since the objections of around 5,000 were considered and the approval of the government was awaited having the process completed.
