Chairman, Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), V. Balakista Reddy on Tuesday said that institutions must move beyond traditional models toward industry-relevant, research-driven and socially responsive education.
Speaking at the southern regional roundtable, Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (SICI), at NALSAR University of Law, Shameerpet on Tuesday, he underscored the best practices and reforms implemented in Telangana’s higher education sector. He said that State’s policy-driven reforms, institutional coordination and industry alignment have strengthened the higher education ecosystem and could serve as a learning framework for other southern States.
The common challenges, according to Mr. Reddy, faced by Southern universities included the need for empowering new leadership, reorienting academic governance to meet industry and future workforce demands, and enhancing research, innovation, and employability outcomes through collaborative frameworks.
