Mark Normand IShowSpeed joke takes an unexpected turn
Mark Normand recently met IShowSpeed at New York City comedy club, while the streamer was live-streaming his Speed Does America Tour. After the comedic meet, Normand made a post, congratulating Speed. Though instead of writing his name correctly, he called him “Kam Patterson!" a popular American stand-up comedian and actor.
The digital outcry to this post was immediate. The fans were quick to comment, pointing out Normand’s mistake. A user directly went ahead to say, “That’s idospeed stupid,” while still pronouncing the streamer's name wrong.
The others fans and audience flooded the post’s comments, expressing a mix of criticism, confusion, as well as sarcasm over the actions of the comedian. A user comment even pointed out the iconic twist, saying, "Calling someone stupid while not even getting his name right is gold 😂."
The joke was amplified by the others who continued to play along, with a fan tweeting, "It’s Kevin Hart."
While the other just reacted with disbelief, saying, "aint no shot."
The surprise to all of these comments came in later as Normand himself commented, saying, “I got his name wrong to continue the joke.”
He then expressed his disbelief that his fans were not able to understand his joke.
Why did Mark Normand refer IShowSpeed as Kam Patterson?
While the fan comments did put on a show in itself, the one question that will be in the minds of all who came across this post is— why did Normand refer to Speed as Kam Patterson? Well, to answer this question, as per the ongoing discussion by the Reddit fans, this was not misidentification. It was because IShowSpeed "just did Kam Patterson's entire set." Probably this is the reason why he was also congratulated in Normand’s post.
Ishow speed meets Mark Normand and does stand up comedy
In a viral humor clip all over social media, Normand can be seen attempting to write a script for Speed. Quite controversially, he suggested that he use a racial slur, “n*gg@.” Normand, in the video, can be seen and heard advising speed to “go with the N word.” He later even added, “didn't work for me, but it'll work for you." Such an attempt at an edgy comedy, which fell flat for many, appeared to be the root of his comparison with Kam Patterson, linking Speed’s style to confrontational and high-energy comedians.
