Editor Chaman Chakko recently shared a memorable experience from his work on the survival thriller film 2018.In a recent interview, the talented editor revealed how a scene he initially found cringy ended up winning huge applause in theaters.

The scene in question featured Naleen Sandra’s character discussing fishermen at home.

Chaman admitted he felt the moment was unnecessary and even asked director Jude Anthany multiple times whether it should remain in the film. “I felt it was a little cringy. But Jude said, ‘Leave it, we’ll see how the audience reacts,’” Chaman recalled in an interview with Club FM.On the film’s release day, Chaman and cameraman Akhil went to watch the premiere.

To their surprise, the very scene he had doubts about drew loud cheers from the audience. “When that scene came on, I was stunned—there was a huge applause in the theatre. Akhil looked at me with a glance… and that’s how these little moments happen,” he said.
