'The Bengal Files' is the third part of director Vivek Agnihotri’s spiritually linked trilogy.

'The Tashkent Files' (2019) earned Rs 20 crore worldwide, while 'The Kashmir Files' (2022) became a blockbuster with Rs 341 crore globally. In comparison, 'The Bengal Files' is struggling. That said, it has already surpassed the lifetime collection of Agnihotri’s last release, 'The Vaccine War' (2023), which ended its run with Rs 10.33 crore at the domestic box office.

About 'The Bengal Files': Plot and Cast

The film revisits one of the darkest chapters in Bengal’s history, focusing on the 1946 Direct Action Day violence and the Noakhali riots. Alongside Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher, the cast includes Pallavi Joshi, Saswata Chatterjee, Darshan Kumarr and Sourav Das in key roles. The makers are hopeful that the film may see a spike in numbers over the second weekend.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
