Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Bengal Files', which was one of the controversial releases of this year, is now gearing up for its digital debut. 'The Bengal Files', about the events surrounding the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings (Direct Action Day) and its impact on the country's partition and independence, film will be available to watch on the Zee5 platform from November 21, 2025. According to the reports, Agnihotri released a statement that read, "The Bengal Files is not just a film; it’s a reminder. It’s about the forgotten chapters of our collective conscience and the price of silence.

Through this story, we wanted to bring Bengal’s pain, courage, and truth to the forefront."He added, "I’m glad that this story will now reach every home—every viewer who wants to know what really happened."

According to the Sacnilk report, the film, reportedly made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, earned just around Rs 16.79 crore at the box office.

The movie is a part of Agnihotri's 'Files' trilogy that included 'The Tashkent Files', 'The Kashmi Files', and 'The Bengal Files', failed to bring the audience to the theatres unlike the other films.
