However, as the credits rolled out at the end, the perplexed original book readers recognised that some of the important plotlines were completely missing from the series.

While there was a definite end at the finale, the ‘Wedding’ portion was missing, making fans disheartened. Turns out, the beloved Bonrad would be getting an entire feature film.

During the celebration of the finale in Paris, Lola Tung and Chris Briney posed behind the backdrop of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty.

THE MOVIE.’ Along with the announcement from the official social media account, Prime Video announced on Wednesday that the final chapter of the couple is set to release. While the details about plot, characters, timeline, release date, and many more were not announced, fans are happy to know that there’s still time to let go of the Cousins universe.

Han gave a statement to the MGM studios, claiming, “There is another big milestone left in Belly's journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due.”

Additionally, she thanked Prime for believing in her vision and sharing the final chapter with the fans.

Jenny Han: A letter to tease

At the end of the finale, Jenny Han wrote a letter to the fans, suggesting that season 3 was not the end of the story. “We put our whole hearts into this show, and we’re so thankful to you for coming along with us on the ride. Maybe we’ll meet again one summer in Cousins. Until then – All of my love always, Jenny,” she wrote, making fans wonder whether she left an easter egg.
