Thief nabbed, ornaments worth ₹6 lakh seized

The Gunadala police on Thursday arrested one Uyyala Rajesh, wanted in several theft cases.

The police seized gold and silver ornaments worth ₹6 lakh, said Central Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) K. Damodar, at a press conference here on Thursday.

The team-led by Gunadala CI Vasireddy Srinivas Rao arrested the accused during vehicle check near Government General Hospital (GGH). The accused, a native of Ajit Singh Nagar in Vijayawada, committed house burglaries in Narsapuram, Razole, Patamata, Naidupeta areas in the State. In all, 12 cases were pending against him, Mr. Srinivas Rao said.
