Aurangabad: Three buses parked at a petrol pump at Daudnagar in Aurangabad district were gutted late on Tuesday night, officials said. Prompt action by local people and fire personnel helped prevent the blaze from spreading to the nearby fuel tanks.
No one was injured in the fire incident.According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place at a fuel station located on the Patna-Aurangabad highway. Late at night, locals noticed flames erupting from the parked buses and immediately alerted the authorities. Firefighters, assisted by local people, managed to control the blaze before it could reach the fuel storage tanks of the fuel station.While two buses were completely destroyed, one suffered extensive damage.SP, Ambrish Rahul, said preliminary investigation suggested an electrical short circuit as the cause of fire. However, some local residents alleged that unidentified miscreants might have set the buses ablaze.
