A collision involving three cars near pillar number 253 on the P. V. Narasimha Rao (PVNR) Expressway caused traffic disruptions in the Rajendranagar area on Saturday (December 20, 2025) with congestion stretching from Upparpally to Aramgarh.

According to Rajendranagar traffic police, a car travelling at a high speed from Warangal towards Mehdipatnam first rammed into the road divider. Moments later, a car following it crashed into the damaged vehicle, while another car coming from the opposite direction collided head-on, resulting in a pile-up on the two-lane stretch of the elevated corridor.

Drivers, who sustained injuries, were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and their condition was said to be stable.

A traffic police official said overspeeding continues to be a major concern on the PVNR Expressway, particularly because of its limited carriageway width. “As the expressway has just two lanes and due to frequent over speeding by drivers, accidents are being reported regularly on this stretch,” the official said.

The latest incident comes amid a spate of accidents on the expressway this week. On Wednesday, a car rammed into a road divider near pillar number 123.

Earlier, on Monday night, mild tension prevailed on the expressway after a three-car collision near pillar number 112 was reported after a hatchback car broke down in a no-parking zone. When the owner attempted to move the vehicle, three cars approaching from behind crashed into one another. Two men sustained minor injuries and were given first aid at the scene.
