Villa player Amadou Onana was seen making a gesture by sticking three fingers in his pocket, symbolizing the Birmingham-based team’s win over United.
Rogers opened the scoring for the hosts in the 45th minute, but the joy was short-lived as Cunha curled one into the side netting just three minutes later in first-half added time.
However, Rogers came up clutch again in the second half, netting his second goal of the day in the 57th minute. Unai Emery and his team held on to their advantage to see the game out.
Manchester United, who stand seventh in the English top-flight, have amassed 26 points in 17 games this season with seven wins, five draws, and five defeats.
This victory marked Villa’s seventh consecutive win in the Premier League, their longest winning streak since the 1989–90 season. Their tenth win in all competitions is the club’s first since 1914, marking an incredible turnaround to the season, which they started off slow with just two points from their opening five games. Villa now have 36 points at the end of 17 games as Emery continues to cement his place in Villa folklore.
