Three killed as truck overturns near Chennamman-Kittur

Three people from Uttar Pradesh were killed and six were injured when a truck carrying cement pillars overturned on Pune-Bengaluru National Highway near Chennamman-Kittur in Belagavi district on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Adil Khan, 26-year-old Pawan and 25-year-old Nazeer Khan of Kursat village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh.

Six people, including driver Durgappa Gadiwaddar from Vijayapura district, who suffered injuries, have been admitted to various hospitals.

The accident occurred on the national highway near the huge statue of Kittur queen Chennamma. Further details are awaited.
