Three municipal staff booked for replacing original documents with fake ones in file

The Yadgir Town Police have registered a case against two employees of Yadgir City Municipal Council (CMC) and one staff of Shahapur CMC for inserting fake documents in a file pertaining to a property dispute.

As per an FIR filed on the basis of a complaint lodged by CMC Commissioner Umesh Chavan, Revenue Inspector Manappa Ningappa Badiger, Revenue Inspector (in-charge), both working at Yadgir CMC, Moinuddin Mohammad Hazrat and Supervisor in the Water Supply Department in Shahapur CMC Hanumanthappa Mallappa Ashinal entered the CMC office at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday (a government holiday) and replaced the original documents with fake documents pertaining to a property (site) dispute.

In his complaint, Mr. Chavan has stated that the Deputy Commissioner’s office directed the CMC to take action against those who made illegal registration of site number 42 in survey number 151 of Yadgir (B) village after a detailed enquiry into a case of illegal registration.

Having come to know about it, Hanumanthappa Ashinal entered the CMC office with the two other employees and removed the original documents from the file, destroyed them and replaced them with fake documents, he said.

It was specifically mentioned in the complaint that the employees have had an intention to cheat the department and also the general public by destroying the original documents involved in the case.

The case was registered under Sections 316(4), 316(5), 318(3), 318(4), 323 and 340(1) under Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS). After registering the case, the police have launched an investigation.
