District Collector and District Election Officer Arjun Pandian has said that preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters’ list have been completed across the district.

Thrissur district has a total of 26,50,163 voters, including 12,64,500 men, 13,85,628 women, and 35 transgender persons. There are 2,338 polling booths in the district.

A district-level meeting of representatives of recognised political parties was convened under the chairmanship of District Collector on Sunday to discuss the schedule and details of the SIR.

A Booth Level Officer (BLO) has been appointed for each booth. A BLO supervisor has been assigned for every ten booths to monitor their activities. Training sessions for BLOs and supervisors have already been completed. BLOs will distribute two printed copies of the enumeration form to each household, containing the officer’s name and contact details.

Those not currently included in the voters’ list will receive Form 6 and a declaration form. Voters are required to fill out one copy of the enumeration form and return it to the BLO. Forms can also be submitted online through voters.eci.gov.in or the ECINET mobile app. Voters who are temporarily away can authorise close family members to sign and submit the form on their behalf. No additional documents are required along with the enumeration form.

The Election Commission has scheduled the form distribution and collection period from November 4 to December 4. The draft voters’ list will be published on December 9, incorporating all forms received by that date. Each polling station will accommodate a maximum of 1,200 voters.

After publication, objections and claims can be submitted from December 9, 2025, to January 8, 2026. After reviewing all claims and objections, the final voters’ list will be published on February 7, 2026.

Appeals against the Electoral Registration Officer’s decisions can be submitted to the District Collector. Printing of enumeration forms has been completed, and a help desk has been established at the district level for public and party assistance, said the collector. Help desk contact: 0487-2631036

Mr. Pandian assured that every eligible person will be included in the list, and existing discrepancies will be resolved to prepare an error-free voter roll. “All arrangements have been made to make the process simple and trouble-free for voters,” he said, urging cooperation from all political parties and the public.

Meanwhile, Deputy Election Commissioner Sanjay Kumar also held a review meeting with the District Election Officer and Electoral Registration Officers on the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) at the Collectorate.
