Pune : Shafali Varma has finally started believing that India have won the Women’s ODI World Cup. And with the realisation of being a winner, the star India player has also started to feel more gratitude, humility and responsibility.“After so many days of being greeted by huge crowds and felicitation programmes, I’ve now started to feel the magnitude of the triumph.“It is humbling and at the same time, it also reminds us of the long journey that we have had in women’s cricket. I feel after this win, what we do next, how we chart out the path, will be important for the sport,” Shafali told TOI .Shafali, once known as the Virender Sehwag of women’s cricket, has mixed feelings about being compared to him. “It is an honour for any cricketer to be known as young Sehwag. He is a great player and I have high regard for him. But I think that after this win, talented players in future will also be called a ‘young Shafali’ or a ‘young Harmanpreet’ or compared to women players instead,” she said.
