, the actor and his girlfriend were arrested at their home in Tokyo on September 3. The Metropolitan Police Department arrested the duo based on suspicions of having marijuana at their Tokyo residence. The allegations initially came forth around the beginning of the year, after which the actor admitted to the crime himself. "There is no doubt that I had marijuana”, he told the investigators at the time of the investigation into the matter.A statement from the report read, “Police received information in January about suspected cannabis use by Shimizu. On the morning of Sept. 3, they searched his home and seized plant material believed to be marijuana, rolling papers, and other items”.As per the report, the authorities are looking into the matter and have been investigating whether Hiroya is a habitual user or not. In Japan, possession of cannabis items can amount to around 5 years in jail.
