Amidst the chanting of hymns from the Vedas, Commissioner of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) K. Kannababu formally started functioning from the newly-constructed CRDA headquarters in Amaravati on Thursday.
Additional Commissioner A. Bhargava Teja and Engineer-in-Chief R. Gopalakrishna Reddy, too, occupied their chambers in the new structure after the customary puja. Senior officers and staff extended their greetings to the officials.
The first structure to have been completed after the NDA government came to power, it was recently inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu amid a large gathering of the Amaravati farmers who had parted their lands under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) for the construction of the capital city a decade ago. The headquarters would play a crucial role in monitoring the ongoing capital city works.
