At the constituency level, those in the Patna district have seen more or less the same turnover between 2015 and 2020, showing a bigger improvement from 2010 to 2015. However, the turnout in Digha (36.8%), Bankipur (35.9%) and Kumhrar (35.27%) constituencies have remained lower than the district’s other constituencies. Other constituencies recorded turnout between 50% to just over 60% in 2020 and 2015.
Moreover, these three constituencies polled the lowest turnout in the 2020 elections compared to all constituencies in the State. Kumhrarh was among the ten constituencies with the lowest turnout in 2010, 2015 and 2020, like Bankipur.
Constituencies with the highest turnout included Korha, Kasba, Pranpur, which recorded high turnouts in three elections.
This year’s election will be conducted in two phases - first on November 6 and the next on November 11. Results will be announced on November 14. The number of phases has come down over the years. In 2010, the election was held in six phases in the span of a month. In 2015, five phases were held. In 2020, it was three phases.
