Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation has announced a slew of traffic diversions at the Uppal crossroads, in view of the ongoing construction of the elevated corridor between Uppal and Narapally.
While the National Highways is taking up the construction between Uppal circle and Narapally as part of the development of NH-163, MMC is the executing agency for the portion between Uppal circle towards Ramanthapur. The corridor has been extended over the junction in order to find solution for the traffic congestion.
In order to facilitate the construction of pillars, the halts for the RTC buses towards Warangal, Hanumakonda and Yadagirigutta have been shifted from the present location towards the Nalla Cheruvu lake bund, a statement from MMC informed.
From Sunday (May 17), the road towards Warangal will be temporarily shut down for traffic, the statement said, requesting commuters and vehicle riders to figure out alternative routes ahead of the travel.
Travellers from Warnagal to Hyderabad may reach Nagole via the Uppal Bagayat road and use the service road there to take a U-turn from under the flyover to resume their journey. Those heading towards Warangal from Hyderabad may take the shortcut via Beerappagadda to land on the NH-163.
A caution has been issued for the buses and trucks on Warangal-Hyderabad route to avoid Uppal Bagayat road which is narrow and cannot accommodate them. Instead, the heavy vehicles may reach the city via Outer Ring Road, exiting at Pedda Amberpet interchange, and take the Hayatnagar-LB Nagar stretch.
Those headed for Warangal from Hyderabad may enter the ORR via Pedda Amberpet and exit at Ghatkesar, to resume their journey, the statement said.
