Trichy Surya sent to one-day police custody

Chennai: A magistrate court sent Trichy Surya Siva, who was arrested for making derogatory remarks against a BJP functionary and her child, to one-day police custody on Friday.The cybercrime wing had registered a case after receiving a complaint claiming that derogatory comments were made against the woman and her child at an YouTube interview.

A YouTuber, Mukthar, has also been arrested in connection with the same case.The cybercrime police moved the XI metropolitan magistrate court in Saidapet requesting the police custody of Trichy Surya Siva for questioning. After hearing the petition, the magistrate granted his custody for one day. Following the order, police brought Trichy Surya Siva to the cybercrime unit of Central Crime Branch (CCB) for interrogation. He will be produced before the court on Saturday.
