In a fiery address, opposition chief Jitendra Chaudhury has leveled serious allegations against the ruling BJP in Tripura, claiming they have entrenched corruption and unleashed a wave of economic plunder. He raised alarms about the deteriorating political atmosphere, urging for a revival of democratic values as tensions escalate between Chief Minister Manik Saha and Tipra Motha leader Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.
Agartala: Leader of the opposition Jitendra Chaudhury has levelled serious allegations against the ruling BJP in Tripura, accusing them of institutionalising corruption and creating a rampant ‘loot raj’ across the state.Chaudhury has expressed deep concerns over the political and social climate under the current regime, highlighting the complex political environment, while addressing 10th State Conference of the Tripura Scheduled Caste Coordination Committee here. He has emphasised the pressing need to restore democracy in Tripura, highlighting escalating tensions between CM Manik Saha and BJP’s alliance partner Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.
Meanwhile, BJP state secretary Devid Debbarma took exception to Chaudhury and said, “CPM has lost its mind with the development initiatives of the govt and the flow of funds to the common people. As a result, they are making such a malicious attempt to create a false narrative, but they don’t know people no longer believe them.”
