US President Donald Trump on Monday linked the success of the Gaza peace deal, which secured the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas, with America’s military strikes against Iran’s nuclear sites.

“If we didn’t bomb Iran, this deal wouldn’t have happened," Trump said during a landmark address to the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), in the presence of PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

“The Arab and Muslim nations wouldn’t feel comfortable making this deal if Iran had a nuclear weapon," Trump added.

The US President described the Gaza peace deal as a turning point for regional diplomacy, noting that it symbolised a “joint victory for Israel, the United States, and their allies."

“The significance of this event is that the whole world, especially Israel’s enemies, sees a joint victory celebration by the United States and Israel," he said, adding his gratitude to Arab and Islamic nations for their behind-the-scenes support.

“We received a great deal of help from people you wouldn’t have guessed at all. This is a very extraordinary time in history."

Trump Hails Op Midnight Hammer

During his address, Trump revealed details of “Operation Midnight Hammer," the US mission targeting Iran’s underground nuclear facility at Fordow.

He praised American military might, saying, “Operation Midnight Hammer, a great name for what we did, from our beautiful B-2 bombers. They are pretty planes. I had no idea what they did. We’re going to have 28 more of a slightly updated version. 100 other planes went with them, along with 52 big, beautiful, brand-new tanks. We have a hell of a lot of planes."

While defending the military strikes, Trump also expressed optimism about future diplomacy with Tehran, saying it would be “great if a peace deal could be made with Iran" and adding that “the Iranian people want to survive."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who shared the stage with Trump, hailed the US President’s role in shaping what he called a “pivot of history."

Referring to the strike on Fordow, Netanyahu said, “One of them was your decision to bomb Fordow. It wasn’t meant only to bomb Fordow, it changed history."

Netanyahu praised Trump’s leadership for combining Israeli military pressure with US global influence to secure the release of remaining hostages.

He linked the latest breakthrough to earlier milestones such as the elimination of Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani and the signing of the Abraham Accords, calling them “foundational steps" toward regional peace.

The Israeli leader concluded by expressing hope that the coming years would usher in “a time of peace," pledging to continue working with Trump to forge new treaties with Arab and Muslim nations.
